Projects and case studies

Construction of a new eco friendly dwelling in Longfield

  • Feasibility
  • Planning permission within the Green Belt
  • Building control approval

Year

2012

Budget

£195,000

Brief

The brief was to replace an existing bungalow on the site on Green belt land with a new high tech and energy efficient two storey property, maximising the views of this stunning site.

The solution was a very modern, minimalist design consisting of three interlinked cubes and with a feature wall linking the dwelling with the garage to frame views of the garden beyond.

The planning process was difficult due to the site being in Green Belt but planning permission was eventually granted and the dwelling was constructed using timber frame technology, high levels of insulation and energy efficient systems.
